Asian Youth Fellowship Scholarship for Higher Education in Japan (AYF Program)

The Asian Youth Fellowship Scholarship for Higher Education in Japan (AYF Program) is a 7-month program in Japanese language and culture intended for graduate students from 11 countries consisting of ASEAN countries and Bangladesh. Participants specialize in a variety of fields including the humanities, social sciences, engineering, and natural sciences.?

Program Period

Approx. 7 months (2010 Academic Year: July 2010 to February 2011)

Eligible Participants

University graduates from 11 Asian countries who are expecting to study at Japanese graduate schools.

Training Content

This program provides training in Japanese for use in daily communication and research activities at graduate schools. Training also includes the ability to make basic presentations in the participant's field of research.
The program helps participants prepare to enter a Japanese graduate school by visiting research laboratories and facilitating meetings with foreign students currently studying in Japan. Training includes activities, exchange events, and lectures designed to deepen the participants' knowledge of Japan and enable them to experience Japanese culture and society.
