Local Exchange Programs

In order to contribute and cooperate with the local community, the Japanese-Language Institute, Kansai conducts joint Japanese programs with various municipal governments.

2010 Academic Year: Local Exchange Programs

Basic Japanese-Language Program for JET participants in Osaka

Program Period 3 days (August)
Eligible Participants New JET participants in Osaka Prefecture/2010 Academic Year: 13 participants
Program Content Participants practice Japanese conversation required for daily life at their assigned post, including spoken language and regional dialects.

Intensive Japanese-Language Training Program for Australian Teachers invited by Osaka Prefectural Government

Program Period 20 days (January)
Eligible Participants Japanese-language teachers from Queensland (Australia), a sister-city of Osaka Prefecture/2010 Academic Year: 5 participants
Program Contents Practice using previously-acquired Japanese skills, gathering of materials useful for instructing Japanese-language classes, cultural experiences, etc.

Follow-up Program for Japanese-Language Training Program for Prospective Indonesian Caregivers

Program Period 3 days (February)
Eligible Participants Japanese-language training program for prospective Indonesian caregivers in 2008 and volunteer Japanese-language instructors/2009 Academic Year: 34 participants
Program Content Introduction of study resources to prepare for the Social Welfare Worker National Examination, instruction on required kanji/vocabulary, etc.
